ISOPOLANT
PU JOINT 2K

ISOPOLANT
PU JOINT 2K
Two-component, fluid-grade polyurethane sealant
A two-component, fluid grade polyurethane sealant for horizontal applications, ideal for large construction bondings and joints.

Upon curing, it produces a highly effective sealant, which also provides significant waterproofing with excellent resistance to various climatic and temperature conditions.

In addition, the sealant has a very good resistance to chemicals and other severe exposures.
Compliance
The product complies with:

• ASTM C920
• DIN 18540
• SS-S-200D
• SS-S-200E, Type H (slow curing, manual mixing)
Application area

• Sealing of large expansion joints
• Sealing of joints in water tanks
• Sealing of joints in irrigation canals
Features and benefits
  • Excellent resistance to ageing, microorganisms, fungi and several chemicals
  • Can be painted over
  • Remains elastic even below -40° C
  • Resistant to both salt and fresh water
  • Good mechanical properties
  • Resistant to contact with petroleum products in accordance with the specification SS-S-200E
Application procedure
1
Recommended application temperature range varies between +5° C to +40° C.
Thoroughly clean bondings and rims of the joints, make sure that there are no residues of oil, grease, wax and silicone as well. The bottom must be dry, chemically neutral, even, strong, clean - free of dust, rust or flaking particles.
2
Set a backer rod of polyethylene or polystyrene of appropriate diameter into the joint to a depth equal to half the width of the joint. Before filling the sealant, the edges of the joint are treated with a suitable primer, depending on the condition of the substrate:
• For porous surfaces - ISOPOLANT GD;
• For wet or damp surfaces - ISOPOLANT Aqua 2K;
• For non-porous surfaces - ISOPOLANT MS.
3
Immediately before application, the components A and B are mixed thoroughly with a low speed mixer and (300 r/min), until the mixture is completely homogenized to avoid the formation of air bubbles. The final mixture is poured slowly into a joint.
