ISOPOLANT PU-B 2K

ISOPOLANT PU-B 2K
Two-component, liquid membrane for waterproofing and protection - 1:1 by volume, polyurethane (A) and bitumen (B)

Two-component polyurethane membrane with expanded bitumen. It is founded on pure elastomeric hydrophobic polyurethane resin impregnated with chemically polymerized pure bitumen and produces a highly elastic film with strong adhesion to many types of surfaces.
Application area

• Plaster, cement and concrete slabs
• Bitumen-asphalt roll coatings
• Flat rooftops
• Terraces and balconies (under tiles)
• Flower pots and roof-top gardens
• Foundations
• Roofing vapor barrier
• Open tunnels
• Irrigation canals

- not recommended for unsound substrates or UV exposed applications.
Features and benefits
  • The components mix easily
  • Fast curing
  • Ability to apply in a thick layer, bubble-free
  • The two-component form of the product makes possible to store non-mixed parts until later use
  • Its low modulus gives it excellent substrate crack-bridging properties
  • Excellent adhesion on almost any surface, with or without the use of special primers
  • Excellent thermostability. Maximum operating temperature 80°C
  • Resistance to cold: the film remains elastic even at -40°С
  • Maximum elongation, high tensile strength
  • Good water vapor barrier properties
  • Can be used as a sealant for joints
Application procedure
1
May be successfully applied to concrete, fiber cement, old (but well-constructed) bitumen asphalt rolls coatings, wood, brick, metal. To get information about other surfaces, contact our Technical Department.
Requirements for a concrete substrate (standard):

• Hardness of concrete: R28 = 15Mpa.
• Concrete humidity: W <10%.
• Temperature: 5-35o C.
• Relative humidity: <85%.
2
The substrate must be dry, chemically neutral, even, strong - without cracks and damage, clean - without dust, rust, or peeling particles. Seal cracks, damage, holes with a suitable material. Traces of contamination from oil, oil substances, or chemicals must be removed.
3
For surface priming, use ISOPOLANT MS or ISOPOLANT GD.
4
To begin with, open component B with bitumen and mix well with a low-speed mixer (300 r/min), particularly on the walls and bottom of the container until the material is homogenous. Then pour component B into a clean 50-liter container and stirring, add component A - resin. Carefully mix the components A and B, until the mixture is completely homogenized, while avoiding the formation of air 's bubbles. Ready (mixed) is to be used as soon as possible. Viability of the finished mixture: 30-45 minutes at 20° C.
5
Apply it with a brush, roller, spatula and airless spraying (the operating pressure of >200 bar) in a single layer. For airless spraying, the mixture can be diluted with the solvent up to 10% by weight.

Flow rate 1,5-2,0 kg/m2.
